Products and services

Multi-sensor networking with mobile communication - collecting, analyzing, storing, and transmitting data in mobile and stationary applications. The TDC-E (Telematic Data Collector) gateway system is an open IIoT platform that links sensors and machines together for reliable network communication. TDC contains data processing capability that analyzed and evaluated data locally. As a high-performance open communication platform, the TDC-E offers numerous analog and digital connectivity options for connecting sensors and sensor systems. Therefore, different sensor solutions can be connected and data can be pre-processed, visualized and forwarded via a cloud or a direct connection to equipment control systems.

TDC-E (TELEMATIC DATA COLLECTOR): TURNING YOUR SENSOR DATA INTO ACTION

An open IIoT platform that links sensors and machines together for reliable network communication, transmitting data to the target platform, the TDC-E also has data processing capability. Data can therefore be analyzed and evaluated locally. With digital inputs and outputs, user-defined real-time alarms can be set based on relevant data, increasing the productivity and efficiency of industrial processes. SICK offers customer-specific cloud solutions for this purpose.

The first safety laser scanner certified to IEC 62998 for use in outdoor applications. The outdoorScan3 allows automated guided vehicle systems to navigate safely through outdoor industrial environments, for example. Thanks to its innovative outdoor-safeHDDM® scanning technology, outdoorScan3 works safely and reliably in all weather, such as sun, rain, snow, or fog – thus closing a major gap in the automation of industrial processes.

3D LiDAR sensors MRS6000 Product family overview Make the difference visible with multilayers

High scanning point density and an aperture angle of 120° to reliably detect its environment across 24 layers. Special mirror technology ensures high scanning field stability. With the aid of multi-echo technology, the sensor scans through rain, dust, and fog, while simultaneously multiplying the point density. These properties are particularly useful for creating a 3D point cloud without any gaps, which can be used to tackle a whole host of demanding applications.

SICK opens first Industry4.0-ready production facility

With the fourth industrial revolution in full swing, it seems everybody is talking about Industry 4.0 (I 4.0) right now: The ability to network and control machines and processes using information and communication technologies is set to drastically change production processes as we know them. The production of the future may still be in its conceptual stages right now, but it is already very much a reality for SICK: In the production facility, the 4.0 NOW Factory, at the Freiburg site, robots and employees are working side by side to produce the new SICK sensors with twelve fully automated production technology modules, four manual workstations, and a hybrid workstation at their disposal.

Sensor intelligence profits from deep learning - SICK delivers new sensor functions

Using deep learning, sensors perform intelligent in the automated detection, testing and classification of objects or features, which were reserved for humans so far. Deep learning, a sub-area of machine learning, ranks among the probably most significant future technologies in the field of artificial intelligence, and is a long-term driver of Industry 4.0 at the same time. After SICK reported the successful application of deep learning algorithms in the first pilot programs in January, the company is now announcing a new software application for system business in logistics automation based on deep learning at the Hannover Messe. In this application, the deep learning system detects whether a sorting tray in a logistics hub is actually loaded with only one object. This makes the stream of goods more efficient.
