About us

PI (Physik Instrumente) is a leading solution provider in the global market for high precision positioning technology. Being an expert in Piezo, Hexapod and classical motor driven positioning, PI has added over the last decade deep expertise in air-bearing, linear motor and magnetic drive technology. We develop and manufacture standard and OEM products for the most challenging applications for 40 years. In addition to four locations in Germany, the PI Group is represented internationally by fifteen sales and service subsidiaries.

Products and services

PI exhibits a variety of its latest developments in Motion & Control solutions targeting Industrial High Precision Applications. Beside displays with Hexapod, Air-bearing, linear motor and classical motion axes, a 10-axis setup will be the eye-catching highlight. Being an example for fast and wear-free positioning of a workpiece on the plane using latest PI Technology. The core is hexapod which allows precision adjustment in 6 degrees of freedom whereas the center of motion rotation can be programmed for any point in space. A modular ACS motion controller with an EtherCAT® interface takes care of the control.
